His “we don’t run out on cities” rings pretty hollow to those of us who remember the legendary Nordiques/Canadiens battles or who saw Selanne break the record book as a rookie with the Jets. Basille has money and balls – two necessities to be an NHL owner. Bettman may have a lot of the former but he certainly lacks the latter.
